Backpacking Memories

On my class's backpacking trip I saw some amazing sites. Here's two of them. On the backpacking trip a really cool site was the campsite maybe half of the thrill was seeing a rest stop after six miles. But the rest of it was seeing the campsite from this hillside I was standing on. The reed leaves and branches were trying to block the view, but I still got a really good look at it. There was a stream there too. with rocks where we were camping on one side and the forest where we were on the other. I was also kind of surprised how we were going to camp on rocks. That scene was nice because if I turned my head a little It almost looked like that stream, rocks, and forest would go on forever.
Another great site was at the other end of the trail. It was a bridge leading to the parking lot where all the cars that took us were. The thing that connected the trail and parking lot was a wooden bridge that was high over a deep trench. It was like one you would see in the infantry except it had too many plants in it. It also didn't have any war supplies in it. I might have just been happy to see it because I was carrying a maybe five pound backpack for six and a half miles, but it was still a good site.

Behind The Misfits

Behind The Misfits

James Howe wrote the book The Misfits in 2001, and now in 2009 you can still remember it now though. This book will take place in Paintbrush Falls, New York from the view of seventh grader Bobby Goodspeed. Inthis book you will find a lot of comedy, romance, and a lot of drama. This book is a really nice fiction.
This book's main characters are Bobby Goodspeed a chunky nice kid, Skeezie Tookis an X convict, Joe Brown is their gay friend, and Addie Carle the smart and tall girl. The four friends call themselves the gang of five even though there are only four of them. The Gang of five's first problem is when addie doesn't want to do the pledge of allegiance in their teacher Ms. Wyman's class because she thinks that not everyone gets freedom. So addie decides to bring it up in the gangs "forum" at the candy kitchen. Their forum ends with them asking a cool kid from a different race to help them run for class president. Bobby likes a girl in his art class, but thinks that she likes his friend joe. Bobby also has a problem at his work in Awkworth and Ames clothing store. I won't go any further than that because I want you to read the book.
This book can really entertain. Mainly because of the kids being so different yet so similar. In this book something is always happening. Another thing that really entertains is the romance with some of the kids. A lot of them will get a seventh grade love in this book. the author stuffed a lot of hope inthe kids that are in this book, it was suprising whether or not the kids hope came through for them. James Howe certainly painted a picture in this book. It was great how they created freedom in there unforgiving school.
This book was really good because of all the conflict and problem solving. I hope that a lot of people will read this book. To find out the spectacular end to the book. If you don't want to read it let me tell you this to influence you to do it. Will their party win the election? Will bobby get the girl? Will the misfits stop being misfits?.......Are you reading yet?
